Hi all quick question iv,e been told that you only need an isolator (tp) on an extractor fan in a bathroom if there is no natural light coming in to it ie. A window. why is this?

its in the sparks guide to the building regs and on site guide, generally if there is natural light you could islolate the lighting circuit and repair the fan, otherwise you would be in the dark,so they think that nobody would change a fan if it was after dusk,so i fit an isloator anyway.

and if it's an in line fan in the attic, no light in the area. pitch black. what bloody use is an isolator there? ain't these guys that write the guides ever heard of torches?
