Burnt Fingers

I'm still reading the brb...however just would like your thoughts on this one.

I use as standard 1.5mm earth to bond telephone equipment together, with one main earth in 2.5mm to run back to the MET.

For data cabinets, which may contain kit drawing up to well, maybe 5A total, I use 2.5 back to the MET.

I think these are sufficient but someone asked me today why I dont use 10mm (I replied I'll use 16 if you want, you are paying). Just wondered - I cannot see any need for anything over 2.5 but I might be a) stupid or b) missing something.

Thanks for your help in advance. I have learned more here than in 5 years with a Local Authority...lol
 
oops can I add - this is PE not FE - the FE is a seperate cable (cream and marked telecom functional earth), and that every appliance in the comms cabinet is either class II or earthed via plugtop.
