Well for reasons beyond my control, i had to do 2394 and 2395, its a long story so don't ask, and just to complicate matters i already have 2391.

Anyway despite the Feb 2395 exam being one of the toughest I&T exams i have ever seen (i have 2391 papers going back 10 years), and there were 2 questions i didn't even understand and i teach the subject, i passed. I have maintained my 100% C&G 1st attempt exam pass rate, but if it was ever in danger then that was it. I thought i had done enough to pass, but i also knew that it would be close. Given that i teach it, and i couldn't understand what was being asked, then god help any of you who sat it with less then my experience. I now await the 2394, but i did find this a lot easier, and i expect to have passed it, if i advent, then i need shooting.

Cheers..............Howard

Sounds like it's just as difficult as the 2391 then. So it's not been made easier as some suggest. Well I got 2391 and I'm not intending to do the new ones.

Me neither, out of interest what were the questions you didn't understand?if you can remember

the teacher on the course i was on said the same thing , and agreed that some of the questions where not clear enough.

if you found that hard imagine how others found that, I did fail it this time and struggled big time to understand some of the questions, having a go next week again. saying that though 55% passed this time highest pass rate in the last year.

Maybe its just you're loosing it!!!

{just kidding, just. A gag....}

Have to show signs of professional development in my job and this was put forward to me. Have the 2391 also. Not overly fussed to begin with and this feedback ain't helping. HNC will do me for a while!! :)

I sat the first 2395 exam and the tutor wasnt too sure what would be expected and we were given mock questions taken from past 2391 papers along with our 2395 theory lessons, then came the exam and out of 14 that sat it I was the only one that passed it, I only just finished it in the allowed time and the majority of the questions were worded in ways that dont make much sense and in the scenario questions some hinted at carrying on from the previous but were asking something totally different

I did find my 2394 easier to get on with, but i think that was more down to knowing what to expect but even that had some evil questions, one of mine was "define volt drop" and was worth 6 marks

I also sat (and passed) this first 2395 (in April 2012), and like you had to rely on 2391 questions for practice. Indeed the 2395 questions were a little different, I thought (at the time) that they had perhaps gone out of their way to emphasise the 2395-aspect (i.e. periodic), and if you approached it with that in mind, what they were asking all made sense. I also barely finished in time.

I should add, one of the college tutors (who already had 2391) also sat this first exam, it seemed they were supposed to have passed what they were teaching!

There was one about bonding and it being inaccessible, and how would you test something or other. It just didn't make sense, so i wrote a right load of cack, but it must have been appropriate cack, or maybe the marker understood my answer as well as i understood his question, so he gave up and just gave it a tick.

And i had to describe with the aid of a diagram how to test an earth electrode. To be fair i can draw the picture, but explaining it from memory is not my strong point, and as there were only seven marks available, i didn't spend too much time worrying about.

There was another dodgy one, but i can't remember what it was.

Cheers............Howard
