Ok guys well less than 3 months now until the BGB comes into full swing, and I thought instead of paying a centre 100 notes to go over the amendments perhaps we could have a try ourselves. If nothing it will get us talking about it and using it.
I'll start with this one
BRB 530.4.2 Unenclosed equipment shall be mounted in a suitable mounting box, or enclosure in compliance with BS EN 60670, BS EN 62208, or other relevant standard, and fixed to the fabric of the building. Socket-out, connection units, plate switches and similar accessories shall be fitted to a mounting box complying with BS 4662 or BS 5733 and with BS EN 60670-1
BGB 530.4.2 Unenclosed equipment shall be mounted in a suitable mounting box, or enclosure in compliance with the relvant part of BS EN 60670, BS EN 62208, or other relevant standard. Socket-out, connection units, plate switches and similar accessories shall be fitted to a mounting box complying with BS 4662 or BS 5733 and with BS EN 60670-1
The IET have reworded the new one highlighted, but what is interesting they have removed the part and fixed to the fabric of the building.
There have been numerous threads on here about fitting accessories to kitchen cupboards and if it was felt that it contravened reg 530.4.2 if you did, but it seems now that the only arguing point is, the accessibility one.
Any thoughts?
