Just cant believe it - Yes its only 40watts but I didnt expect that !!

Not when clouds usually put an end to generation massively.....

Anyone care to explain why this is even possible ??

Snow is bright white - and reflecting light all over the place.

I've noticed that days with mist are often better than days with cloud - probably because the mist (and presumably snow too) "bounces" the light around, causing more even lighting-up of the sky and can therefore almost reflect light back at your panels from all directions.
Similarly; if the sun is behind the panels (even if the sun is obscured by cloud), it may be better to have white cloud (reflecting the light) than blue sky.

So, with my panels facing South-East, I hope for sunny mornings and white cloud in the afternoons.:innocent:

FB. Thats it , I'ts the same reason why it is (or used to be ) difficult to take photographs in the snow unless you could manipulate your exposure settings.

Or it was wired-up by the work experience kid on a Friday afternoon and it's measuring household consumption rather than generation.

Nah, your first explanation is far more plausible, besides it stop generating now, still made 800 watts for the day - every little helps and adds up I suppose

I commissioned one this morning that had all 16 panels covered so it obscured the cells entirely. Was generating 557Vdc and 62wts. As I was driving there I almost rang the client and turned around. Cleared the panels to complete the commission, thought it best.

Although not conclusive for panels this is an interesting read (I know I'm sad
)http://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/pdf/10.1175/1520-0469(1956)013<0212%3AAAAOTS>2.0.CO%3B2

Why do my links not work first time lol.
