Discuss Ive done my electrical apprenticeship, what else do i need??????? :S in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net
Hello! I am a bit confused as to what extra bits of paper I need as I have recently started a new job. I finished my 4 year electrical apprenticeship in the dockyard and have been out of my time for 3 years. within my apprenticeship i completed the 16th edition, City and Guilds and Btec etc but as i was working in the dockyard have never had to be NICEIC registered or "Part P'eed." I am now working for an organisation as an electrical maintainance man. I will be installing new circuits and systems around the site which will then be open to the public. The company have said that they will pay for me to go on anything i need to but i just dont know what i need!!!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers Guys/Girls!
You wont need part P unless you are going to do notifiable work in domestic properties. As you are qualified to the 16th taking the update exam to the 17th would be of help.

Thats great thanks! Have had a lot of confusion lately with people telling me i need to have loads of extra paperwork even though ive done my apprenticeship etc. I'll have a look for some 17th edition updates in my area. Do you know whether that is the 1 day refresher update course or whether it is a 3 day one? thanks!
