Oops - forgot to update this thread.

Yup & I took a look at the Hybrid models - which I will swap to on new projects BUT they don't offer the tilt models as yet so that will rule some projects out.

On the whole I think its a step forward as the lamp change can be done without removing the fitting from the ceiling.

Re the failures - my main wholesaler says its products with serial numbers ending in 14 that are the most unreliable - which is a pain as I have 23 of these in our place!
Cheers Murdoch. My last failures were units ending 14. Must of been a bad year!

Just gone to order some FGLED 10's from my wholesaler. Was advised by them that they are having lots of returns of faulty FGLED 6's. The guy was also saying, a customer had taken delivery of some of the new Hybrid 7 before Xmas, and wanted a couple more. However, when he went to place an order, the product was in 'quarantine' and he wasn't able to place the order. Apparently the 10 was least problematic.

I ordered some 10's 'cos it fits with the customers desire to have less lights for the same light level, but I may have to review my default manufacture. Had a few failures of the 6's, but not many.

Anyone else had any great failure rate?

Have you any more info on that?
Not as yet. It was my local wholesaler that phoned me up to advise after installing 15 of them on one job.

As said in the other post, JCC did advise a solution for last Friday, but haven't yet answered my follow up email.
If I receive anything I'll post it up here.

I saw this thread earlier, so I asked Wilts when I popped in ..... they say that they don't expect to be able to order ANY hybrid down lights for at least 2 months..... so I'm glad I don't need any!

As indicated above....just be aware with the FGLED6's as there were, it seems, quite a few batches of faulty ones, some lasting less than two years as mentioned above....The main problem was a constant flickering. ....which for the price you would expect more. The extended 10 year warranty sounds good BUT they took a month to send replacements, THEN, they put the warranty on hold for any other JCC light's under the warranty until you return the faulty items.....AND... no Free Post...the customer has to pay the postage to return them. That does not impress the client I can promise you. They are a decent product when they work...but lack of reliability means I'll be moving away from them. Just a heads up on the warranty...might be worth warning client in advance

Fitted some of the Hybrid 9 DL just after Xmas. Seem to be of the same 'luminance' as the 6's. They were replacements for 12v DL, so the existing 1.5mm 6242y cables, were a bit of a tight fit in the cable clamp. My customer purchased them himself, from some on-line company. He bought 8 warm white, all came boxed as, but one was clearly cool white.

I had cause to speak to JCC yesterday. They said the technical issue with the Hybrid 7, has now been resolved. They are just waiting for sufficient stock before releasing them. However, my wholesaler suggested you can't mix the 'old' Hybrid 7 with the 'new' Hybrid 7. Happy days.
