Afternoon folks, in need of a bit of advice, recently completed 2356 (NVQ L3) consisting of 2330 L2 & L3, AM2 and 2382. Now wish to apply for Electrician Craft Card, JIB stated I need the 2351 qualification to apply, what is the difference in the 2351 and 2330 L3 which I thought would be more sufficient qual.:Mr-T:

Did they state that to you over the phone or on the net?

I have the same quals as you and obtained a electrician craft card from them, i dont have 2351, TBH ive never heard of 2351

With the quals you have, you will attain an 'Electrician' grade form the JIB.

The 2351 was the predecessor to the 2330 is all. Some areas aren't fully updated such as they still also ask for the C&G 2400 even though it is now the 2391-20.

2351 was Knowledge of Electrical Installation Engineering. It was a Level 3 Technical Certificate, and as stated preceeded 2330 and succeeded 2360.

I am in a similar situation as the OP.
Would I obtain the JIB Gold card with 2351, 2356 and 2382-20?

Only difference being that I left the trade for a few years and did not do the AM2.

Would this be a problem with ECS?

AM2 normally forms part of the NVQ. You say you have the NVQ so I wouldn't think it relevant that you don't have AM2.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Lenny.

It’s sad that you had to say no more money to them for them to pull their fingers out.
