the jib website isn' very conclusive about which card I qualify for. I've just finished my 4 year apprenticeship and i also hold my initial verification and peridic inspection and testing quals so can I apply for an approved gold card even thouh I haven't been on site for two years as a qualified spark?

afaik you need AM2 and NVQ3 to get a gold card.

It should be straightforward as long as you can provide all the required Certs. Have you got the 17th Ed.

Need a big overhaul the JIB card IMHO. What If you’re trainee electrician looking for a job as a mate or improver and the companies in question requires you have to have a JIB trainee card, you then think I’ll apply for one only to find out you’ve got to employed by the said companies to get the trainee card in the first place.

Unless you’re allowed a CSCS to work as a trainee

You wont get approved but you will get installation electrician then after 2 years you will get approved unless you get letter from you employer to back you up.

Old Approved JIB card, City & Guilds B course certificate, 4year apprenticeship. Now have 17th edition, and new testing & inspection qualifications. Just passed.Training colleges telling me I've still got to do NVQ 3 for mature Electrican??

I would ask the JIB directly. Can you not just renew your card?

The training centres will be keen to sell you courses!
