Have seen the JIB logo used by companies on business letters and on sides of their vans but never seen anyone put their grading on paperwork etc

Should add the companies who use the logo are registered companies with the JIB and not operatives

apart from other sparks knowing i dont think general joe public would, they probably think your firm is called jib.

Its another logo to make you look more impressive. I also have my cycling proficiency badge, 1000m swimming badge, and my camping badge from my days as a boy scout on my letterheads!

I would say if you're a paid up member then it's fine, if you're not, then maybe not such a great idea.

I would think to use it you would need to be a JIB firm.

Again that would be subject to being a JIB approved electrician
I know of a few sparks running around advertising themselves as JIB approved electricians, but haven't paid their fees for years. The requirements have changed alot in the last few years, some of them wouldn't be granted approved status anymore.

In all honesty, if your self employed with your own business working for private customers, it doesn't mean a thing. Remember there are still many potential customers out there that still don't know about part p!!!!!

I still recon that the JIB should take precedent over the NICEIC Napit ect ect there should be ONE definitve list for joe bloggs to check

Thanks for the advice. Although employed I am starting in my to work for myself. Therefore I am looking into how best to market myself. My initial experience tells me the advice on here is true. Most people don't recognise JIB, IET etc. But I was thinking when it comes to looking for commercial to industrial work it could help.
