I'm starting a 2330 level 2 tomorrow, can I join a trade body like NICEIC or NAPIT as an apprentice sort of thing?

Thanks

I thought that they may have an entry level membership so that you can build up and become full members after a few years.

I belong to the Institute of Engineers and technology (IET) and they do an apprentice scheme.

napit nic elecsa ecs etc are more for being a working body, ie for part p requirements and say for tendering works a lot of tenders wont let you quote if you are not in nic for instance. for yourself the iet is good 20% discount from what i remember on their books. and if you wanted you could gain membership from jib as an apprentice and work up to qualified electrician status. i think this is more of what you are wanting. you will have to take the ECS test (Not cscs test) for the card. this will also allow you access to building site to work.
