Been told by my course tutor to sign up for the JTL apprentaship program just have but failed the maths by 1 mark so have to wait 2 weeks to retake

As my college is JTL certified (Greenwich) I can be transfered straight away if I get one so I'm happy as for that but on a honest answer what is the chance of me getting one ? I have uploaded my CV gave a good first impression with my personal message and would be looking to get a reference of my course tutor to help .

I started mine by ringing around the local companies in my area and got an interview after 6 phone calls.

It is always worth ringing up i think as then you can actually talk to someone and try and sell yourself there and then.

Unlucky on the maths test as well. I would brush up in the 2 weeks and then go for it again. At the end of the day if you want it enough you can make it happen.

I passed all that and I've actually been contacted a couple of times about apprenticeships, though I'm not in a situation I can work for nothing like a lot of them want so had to turn the first one down, the second was the other side of Dartford bridge and I'm not doing that every day lol.

I've not actually actively used it either, they've contacted me through it, so I'd say it's worth the effort to do it.
If you failed the maths I'd study and practice your maths, what they test you with is nothing compared to what you're going to have to learn in year 1.

It was mainly rushing it why I failed or 19/20 on others the money isn't the main reason for me I would like to learn hands on as I feel that would suit me better

Also Simon what sort of companies should I look up for a apprenaship bigger ones or smaller ones and what should I say when I phone them pease?

If i could of chosen at the time i would of gone industrial/commercial.

Domestic although it is good to learn how to do it, it gets very repetitive and i am now finding it actually quite boring to be honest.

We do commercial work sometimes but not as much as i would like. To complete the NVQ you will need to get a good variation of wiring/containment/3 phase Distribution and basic consumer units etc etc.

At the end of the day sometimes you just have to take whats available and once you are in a position of work see how things go.
