I need to move a number of downlighter positions. What is the best recommended mod, should i crimp the new cables with heat shrink connectors or use maintainence free junction boxes as the old positions will be plastered over?

Wago's for me too, maintenance free and cuts down on installation time.

Tel are those the ones that look like a grenade ? Iv got one in van it's quit unusual enclosure I can see that it would be a big time saver though

Sparks they are good but pricey arnt they
I can't remember off the top of my head, for down lights we use the J501 junction boxes which are about ÂŁ1-50 I think, one of the main things I like is you clamp the cable down and then everything isn't moving about whilst you make the ends off, not that I've ever really got involved with wago's. Just a thought though, what sort of boxes do the wago's go in?, do they have cable clamps?. I did try to get some wago's a while ago and my wholesaler said they weren't that many people interested enough. Are they a more northern orientated item?

they use cable ties for securing cables. or you can fit 20mm stuffing glands

In the wholesalers around us there isn't really a stockist off the shelf wago or line the most they have is a couple push in connectors not much at all really . I need to join you guys in the 21st century now , I used the hellerman tyton choc box's it's the best choc box but time consuming with the tiny cord gripping screws fiddle f***ers.
Tel do you use cable ties ? Witch wholesaler do you get it from ?
