Guys just a few questions need to brush up on a few things

1. A customer has asked for two new circuits to be installed one radial and one lighting circuit they have already had a fuse board change by somebody else i still supply a domesic electrical cert for this don't i.Just the 2 circuits

2. Also if installing fire rated down lighters i take it i dont have to install the fire hoods as well.

3.Am i right when installing lights that all jbs have to be accessible

4. When fitting a light with a pir do i run the unswitched supply striaght to the light fitting and connect the cables in the jb as normal in and out then switch line.

5.When installing outside lights do i need to install some plastic conduit to protect the cable running through the wall and i take it t&e is ok

thanks in advance

1 st question, any new work done by yourself must be certified, even in this case. trust me, do not to take responsibility for someone elses mess ups, even if the fuseboards look new etc, cover yourself for what work you ve done
q2 you dont need to install fire hoods, as the downlights have built in fire hoods
q3 yes, this is a must, any faults, problems etc you will have to go back to the job and rectify, some make things easy. this is good practice and im sure there some legislation that will confirm this as well
q4 read the manufacturers instructiuons, usually the supply goes to the pir first and then the light,
q5 no not really, but still it depends on what environment etc etc.

Yep...Single signature EIC covering both circuits

2. Also if installing fire rated down lighters i take it i dont have to install the fire hoods as well.
As per previous answer

3.Am i right when installing lights that all jbs have to be accessible
If JBs are not maintenance free, i.e. screwed terminals... if maintenance free, or you crimp, then they do not have to be accessible.

4. When fitting a light with a pir do i run the unswitched supply striaght to the light fitting and connect the cables in the jb as normal in and out then switch line.

Depends upon load, override switching etc...refer to PIR instructions as per previous answer

5.When installing outside lights do i need to install some plastic conduit to protect the cable running through the wall and i take it t&e is ok
Depends upon the height, environmental effects, route of the cabling etc...decide whether there is a likelyhood of cable damage etc and go from there. Also, conduit/trunking might look better is cable is exposed, but if you are going through the wall straight into the back of the lamp then you should not need additional mechanical protection...Assuming the circuit is RCD'd.

Yes an EIC for your works, and dont forget the bonding check
No hoods required as they are built in
JB's are normally accessible behind lights, generally JB's should be accessible, if they need to be non accessible they must be of the maintenance free type
I just run a flex to the PIR and take that back to the fitting or junction box
You could run some conduit but its not really necessary
