Just announcing myself as a new member.
A former heavy industry electrician (British Steel) for over a decade though now more of a DIY'er. Looking to get some UK specific advice on various domestic electrical best practise, etc. in the future.

Well the BBC seems to think Leeds is the North - I'm in Newcastle, so somewhere between North and Proper North - Up North perhaps?

I have a mate who lives in Newcastle. He moved up from Lancashire and the locals classed him as a southerner.... So I suppose its all relative.
