We all know about Ze / Ka readings when we write the ticket out.

Now, when we get to a 3-phase dis board, rule of theumb says we double the reading.

Thats fine but if you only have a single phase circuit coming from the dis board, do you still need to double it up

If the supply to that DB is 3P then the PFC value at that DB will be need to be recorded as the doubled value.

Yes if the supply to the single phase circuit is from a 3 phase DB then the pfc needs to be doubled.

OK.

We have a KA reading of about 4KA on the incomer and most of the circuit breakers are 6KA.

It is a Hager board, does anyone know if the RCBO's are available in 10 KA, I know the MCB's are but the board has the dis board version and they are 6KA.

A little pointer on the Hager RCBO units, they produce 2 different RCBO's. 1 for consumer units and 1 for dis boards, the difference is a longer neutral lead and earth lead, the biggest difference though is the price if you let them get away with it.

We pay £20 for consumer unit version and £24 for dis board version, they wanted nearly £50 for the dis board one though.

Whats everyone else paying, and why are all the other big makes so expensive?
