Kalzip metal roof.

Has anyone installed on a kalzip standing seam roof before? if so what mounting did you use? We are looking at one and I have come across the Schletter standing seam clamp 510. Does this have a nice firm hold on the seam?

Cheers

We've used both the K2 and Schletter and both perform well. If I had a choice I'd opt for the K2 every time - it's quality stuff.
Be aware that we've sometimes been required to use the roofing manufacturer's own brackets, in order not to invalidate the warranty. Firms like Euroclad are a nightmare to deal with, and you'll pay 50-100% more for their own seam clamps etc.

Found the same with a couple of others, clamps identical to K2/S5, though had to use theirs :(

We had a design from Schletter recently, they recommended a clamp every seam which were 408mm apart, over 900 clamps for a 46kwp system. Seemed a bit excessive to us, how do the S-5 compare?

Often found the same, we had one 50kWp job over £6500 in clamps alone let alone the time it took to fit them ...

However if you saw how the sheet was held down underneath you'd want one every seam anyway, else with a good wind it could just peel off like a banana skin..
