Evening peeps.

Invested in a kewtech KT63, and am having problems with the rcd/loop testing.

Im finding that when i test a circuit on a 100a 30mA rcd, either loop or rcd, the tester will work fine.

However, when i try the same on a 63a 30mA rcd it will trip it straight away, even before i test the test button.

Anyideas

Your question seems to indicate that there is a fault on the 63A 30mA RCD.
No test that the KT63 can undertake would differentiate between those two RCDs.

It is possible that you have made an incorrect connection with the test probes or an incorrect selection on the type of test.

I was issued with KT64 at my last job. More often than not had erroneous results when testing on auto. Sent back a whole batch of ABB RCDs once as tripping on 1/2.Led me to not be able to trust the MFT. Passed calibration very time though.

Excellent :-) The case and leads are in good condition. Two live leads, one with a test button. Looks like ÂŁ30 well spent.
