Im re doing my CV and under key skills ive previously put

- good practical skills
- Able to use a variety of hand and power tools
- A methodical approach to work
- Works well as part of a team
- Works well unsupervised
- Good communication skills

my sister suggested I re head this as key skills and acvheivments and delete what Ive already put as nothing sets me apart from other people here. I can see her point but unfortunately shes of on holiday at the moment so I cant pester her for anyhelp on what would make an empler want to see me.

Has anone got an ideas and wouldnt mind sharing them with me. She has wrote all over my cv putting things like "what have you brought to the table (except for tools ive probabl brought headaches but im supposed to be selling myself here. Ive also been advised to focus on what Ive successfully done whilst working on the job but there are no examples and shes 2 days in to a 10 day break. if anyone thinks they can help me to sell myself it would be an absolute touch.

so far ive done my profile which reads A city and guilds 2330 and 2382 qualified electrician with experience in working on both commercial and domestic sites.

Its short and to the point, but any critism is good :)

you should mention you are reliable and trustworthy if you think you are

PHP:
A conscientious, hardworking electrician, with a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge within the industry. Reliable and trustworthy, adapts well to new challenges and ideas, is capable of working alone or within a team. Excellent communication and organisational skills.

That sounds really good Malcom thank you very much mate it really is appreciated, I might need to slightly tweak the wealth of experience bit with a word that sort of says yes I have experience but I am still learning but then again a wealth of experience does sound so much better. Do you think I can get away with saing that.

lofty84,
Dont lie or mislead anyone with your cv cause if your succesfull in getting a job based on your cv,you could be given a big job to do and wont know how to do it.
i have had subbies etc work for me and ive seen some **** sparkys who said they are brilliant or brag they are the best, my apprentice was better who i trained up.

You could tweak it by saying achieving experience, skills and knowledge.

I wasn't sure of you age lofty, so tweak it like that

27 mate. To be honest I think Im just going to use the word wealth as it sounds good, It will get me far more interviews and at the end of the dayits there call if the employ me. Seeing as you did so well at that, the profile I dont suppose you could give me some ideas for the key skills and acheivments bit could you?
