HI,

Been asked to go look at a keypad door entry system where it has been reported the magnet isn't letting go of the door on input of the code.

Apparently a green light on the keypad illuminates on input of the code but door won't release.

What's the most likely problem?

It will prob be obvious on inspection but just wondering what could of gone wrong.

Thanks

Don't know a lot about these systems, but it's it just basic fault finding to start off with?
I presume that when you put in the code it sends a voltage to the magnet to open the door, or turns off the voltage to open the door (fail safe)?
If this is the case the put the code in and measure the voltage on the outputs. If that is correct then check the cable going to the magnet. If that is ok then it's the magnet at fault.

I have no idea what the fault could be but this little toy would open the door for you.

So I've had a quick look and found there's a key pad to get in and another keypad to get out.

The keypad to get in (bewator k42) does't work, you enter the code and it does nothing. The green light doesn't illuminate to say the codes correct but apparently before it fully stopped working you had to enter the code several times to get it to work.

The annoying part is i don't have a key to get into the thing! where do you get them???

Is it safe to assume a replacement keypad is required or is there anything inside the keypad that can be checked or replaced?

Regards
