I just thought I'd share this gem with you. I had a call to connect a cooker. No biggy, just do the usual tests, check the rating and wire it in. When I got there, there was the old 7kW oven/hob unit in the garden and a chippy indoors who'd just fitted a new worktop and fitted the 'new' hob unit into it. It was quite large for the size of property. A quick look underneath and it proved to be a 7kW halogen SMEG affair. Then there was the 5.4kW twin fan oven! Turns out they'd bought these second hand bargains on Gumtree. Only problem, it's an outlet on 6mm and the flat belongs to housing association.

So what size do you think you need, allowing for diversity?
If it's on a 32 amp breaker then the cable will be protected anyway.

I reckon it's taking 28.17amps here, assuming the reference method allows the 32a breaker on a 6mm cable, GO FOR IT
