I'm after advice on where to find info on a "non mechanical air input ducting" to go above a extraction unit to allow to correct amount of air for the extraction unit to work correctly. Anyone heard of this and know where I would look

I'm thinking of getting in a rep from expelair, before I do this can anyone help?

Is this a domestic, commercial or industrial system?

We refer to the system you're after as 'make-up' air. What does the term 'non-mechanical' mean? Is this something like natural draught?

Can you elaborate a little more on what you mean, i completed the domestic ventilation installers course earlier this year and can have a look through the course notes/textbook for you

By means of non mech are you wanting something as basic as a trickle vent? to bring the design flow rate up to spec?

As for the terms "non mechanical" I have no idea what they mean by this, I have just wrote on here what is on a spec sheet, it's in a commercial property.

Do you know what size the extraction fan is? Either a kW rating or some airflow figures?

I don't see commercial extraction make-up air being supplied by natural draught or trickle vents so I'm also a little confused.

They may want a venturi system so that the extracted air isn’t drawn through a fan. I’ve seen it used in chemical labs for ventilating fume cupboards.

I think the idea is that what ever air is extracted out needs replacing with an air input system. (opening a Door or window is no longer acceptable) but this air coming in has to come in above the extraction canopy that extracts all the cr*p. I think I'll have to cal a rep tomo,
