Kitchen lighting

Are there any specfic regs regarding luminaires in kitchens. I was under the impression that pendants shouldn't be fitted but can't find anything in the regs or various guides to support that. Is it something from previous editions or a niceic guide. Obviously you would not want some great dangly pendant 4 feet from a sink but is there anything wrong with a 6" pendant 3m from sink and hob Anyone point me the direction of any guidance and possible codes if it is not allowed -cheers

it's bathrooms where pendants aren't allowed, no restriction in kitchen . as you say, you don't want it dangling into the sink!

So it's a value judgement on a 1? or a 2? if it was close enough to be splashed, but can't be a 4.

I would never fit a pendant in a bathroom, but technically, as long as its not in any zones, where in the regs does it say you can't?

I agree that dont fit a pendant in bathroom. but could anyone suggest why we dont do it. any specific reason.
