kitchen lights RCD

Hello
I've been asked to alter a existing lighting circuit in a kitchen to incorporate the fitting of some spots. Do i have to put this circuit on a RCD? i dont have to move the switch.
cheers

The RCD requirement is for cables concealed in walls or partitions at a depth of less than 50mm. It only applies to cables that have been installed as new circuits, or additions/alterations to circuits.
If you haven't added any cables in walls then you don't need to protect the circuit with an RCD.
