Kitchen Rewire - What would you do?

Its only something small but I think it'd make a good discussion where the same situation is on any installation. (Redundant Circuits)

With new modern kitchens most people are coming away from your double standing oven needing the typical 40A Supply and having the single oven in a tower unit which comes with a 13A plugtop.

Are you the type of person who would advise keeping the old 40A isolator and making the relative cable safely isolated for future use or would you take it out and just have the FS and socket combo to reduce the amount of switches above the worktop?

I get torn between the two because I don't like ripping out supply's when they could be possibly be used for the future so I normally ask the customer and give them both options.

Looking forward to hearing your replies

Cheers Liam

Keep the existing cooker supply and convert it to suit new purpose (eg fit a FCU in place of the old control unit). Anything that limits the load on a kitchen ringmain is a good thing in my book.
