hi all have been ask to rewire a kitchen but the owner doesnt want any fused spurs above the work top so was wondering if it would be ok to use a mk grid switch with 20a double pole and put them all in one cupbard

i'm going to use an 8 gang mk grid for 4 appliances. 1x 20a switch and 1x 13a fuse unit for each appliance.
i'll set the box on the fabric of the building but not in a prominent position.
i'll go from the fuse unit to a switched single socket behind the appliance.
i'm pretty sure this is fine?

Would the plug top fuse not be suffice for protection? Instead of having fused grid sw.

Stick your sockets in the nearest cupboard and stuff the regs..........common sense applies more than the holy bible. The cupboard is fixed to the building and the socket is fixed to the cupboard so whats all the fuss about?

putting the socket behind the appliance is asking for even more trouble in my opinion.

Thats standard for what we do.

Ring in to the grid switch/double pole switch out of there to a single socket for the appliance. Double pole switches are engraved with the appliance name. Im sure aslong as the appliance has a plugtop that would be sufficiant protection. Only if a flex outlet plate is used would a fuse in the grid plate be needed.

The rcd spur being fitted is probably because there wasn't rcd protection of that supply.

It depends on where that SFU 'sits' in the circuit. If it's there as a courtesy isolator for the fridge socket then potentially yes as it could...
