Kitchen Wiring Question

I have seen these pop-up worktop power points (extension). If these are just plugged into an existing socket (before the kitchen is installed) does this mean if no other electrical work is done then there is nothing to notify? In UK.

Looks like a disaster waiting to happen when that cup of coffee or container with liquid gets knocked over and floods it. And I see it's competitively priced for an extension lead

Seems ugly in my opion. Not too sure what sort of reaction I would expect reccommending one of those.

It's got a novelty value, rather like the telescopic ironing boards that kitchen companies were incorporating into drawers in the 90's.

Personally, I'll stick to selling good old traditionally mounted socket outlets!
