My sis is having here kitchen rewired. The guy doing has asked my advice and need to check if i,m still on the right track. have suggested seperate ring for kitchen. chase the cables into the wall and cap(will be tiled over).electric hob , can you feed via switched fused spur?? any other pearls of wisdom??:eek:

Seperate ring is good. If possible try to put a dedicated socket in for the Freezer on a seperate RCBO so if the worst happens then it still has power, unless the rest of the house has non RCD protected circuits somewhere and you could run an extension lead to it. Capped and chased is also good. The Electric hob, this will probably need more power than a 2.5mm ring circuit can deliver, you need to know the rating of it, and then install a suitable circuit, i usually use 6mm, but some require 10mm. If it is a gas hob just needing a supply for the ignition then a SFCU will do.
This work is also notifiable.
