Hi all- I purchased a 2nd hand kewtech KT64 multifunction tester and it did not come with a calibration cert. I used the meter to test my new kitchen circuit but was getting high/unusual readings on most of the tests. I called my friend who is NICEIC registered to double check with his test equipment and his results were considerably lower and within range. He said that if the meter was calibrated this should sort out the problem? Has anyone else had problems with these testers? And would having it calibrated rectify this matter? Cheers

Hi there,
From what I can remember it was the ZE/PFC and continuity tests that were higher. On the ZE test I was getting 1.45 ohms and my friend 0.85 ohms. Continuity on the R1- my results 0.41 ohms, my friend 0.21 ohms? cheers

When continuity testing the leads remember to flex all the stress points.
One of the sparks at a local college says they have reliability issues with all of their Kewtech KT64 & 65 multi-function testers, which so far, despite numerous attempts, Kewtech are unable to solve, back and forth for 13 months and counting to my knowledge. These problems appear to be all associated with the rotary selection switch, he says usually the first signs are when nulling the leads becomes erratic.

If the leads make no difference then you need to get it looked at !
