Hi im new to this forum, i need some help i recently brought some led strip lights they are 12v lights i brought 4 strips of them. the problem is when i wire them to a 12v transformer and plug them in they they flick on for like half a second as im plugging them into the wall and then they stay off. the fuse in the plug is a 5amp. is there a reason they are not working.

LED's are the same as diode's and should be working on DC only they will start to emit light @ 0.7 of a volt dc @ 0.02 Amps per LED, SO make sure that its DC and not AC you are supplying the lights with. because they are diodes you should not have damaged them as long as it was only a 12 volt ac transformer. DIODES let current flow in only one direction hope this help's you. look up full wave rectifier and you will see why they flicked on.
