I've just bought some rather nice Bachco screwdivers and other stuff. What do you guys do to stop them getting nicked, other than keeping them in your pocket. When you go on some sites theres loads of trades about, are there any security labels that you can have your name on. I did know someone who soldered their initials in the plastic handles..
Cheers
Mark

I wouldn`t buy expensive drivers....you tend to lose em under floors n stuff....but snips are a different matter...need a good set of snips that feel "right" as you are using em...i like the bahco ones me........

all good,,, but tools should go with you if you think going to be stole... i dont think marking them up or engraving your initals into them will be any good.... cause they will be stashed from stole.. till time to go or next day....

there will always be light fingered little gets about wont they though.....and sneaky n all....like your backs turned for a few mins..and its all over......ÂŁ5-600...maybe ore gone.....drills n all....its owt these days......only way is to keep it in sight at all times...labeling scratchin your name in em and taping em up aint gonna do owt......

It's a sorry state of affairs if other tradesman on site would steal your tools. You don't get much lower than that. I couldn't work with tools if they had tape around the handles.

Have it on the shaft of drivers and up the top of the handle for snips etc.. so its never touched. Unfortunately we work with expensive gear so those that way inclined will always be on the look out

Maybe invest in a few of those sub-minature RFID tags, then leave your tools unlocked. Catch the first lowlife red handed and beat the culprit to a pulp or get the security involved. Usually after you've made an example of one you won't have any more problems.
