Laboratory Testing

Hi gang
has anyone vere tested a lab, my boss has just asked me to find out if there are any special requirements.
is it classed as a special location, hazardous area etc, i'm told its wired in pyro and has flameproof fittings etc.
any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure classification would vary from lab to lab. I would speak to the owners and operators for documentation.

It would depend on what this lab's general purpose is and what chemicals, substances are being worked on/with. There are some extremely hazardous labs around, some requiring some very sophisticated fire alarm and other monitoring systems... You will need to find out, from those responsible for the Lab dept, what classification this particular lab comes under....
