I've just sent my CV over to an electrical company for a labourers position......

they do not require any tickets (according to the advert) and i am calling them in the morning to speak to the hiring manager.

what sort of questions should i expect?

teamwork?

own initiative?

do you think they will ask me anything technical?

any advice would be much appreciated

sam

I very much doubt they will ask technical questions of someone applying for a labourers position, they probably aren't looking for too much initiative either.
They will probably ask if you hold a clean driving licence and if you have your own transport.

had a chat on the phone today with them, they seemed quite interested until i mentioned my age. the awkward silence that followed didn't fill me with much confidence but they said they will call me tomorrow for another chat.

can't NOT give you the job on the grounds of your age, but they could make up another excuse

Hi Sam, if you're confident in your ability to graft as hard as the next man, get on with people, cheerfully do what your told, and have common sense. Challenge them to give you a days trial.
Were does funding come into the equation ?

We got talking about what i was looking for out of the job ..... we spoke about training and then i told him my age ....

I like the idea of a days trial ..... i might propose it to them .....
