lamp keeps blowing

ive just got a call out to a job with some wall lights
the client said the wall lights are newly wired but one of the keeps blowing lamps like there going out of fasion!
just seeing if anyone out there had this before?

Have had a washer drop inside the light fitting in wall lights before giving intermittent shorts. I would also look inside the lamp in question at its internal connections. And look for loose/poor connections in the installation wiring. Was a minor works cert issued? Check the readings and recheck them yourself.

She said it was a sparky mate of hers that works fir council so I'll be very surprised if any cert has been issued
Think it's a cheap fitting with asda smart price lamps in it

poor connections in lampholder, cheapo lamps, mains spikes, try fitting rotary dimmer so they come on low . cured a few of similar probs. i've had in the past
