Phil

got a phone call from a landlord passed on by a gas fitter i know. "can you look at my tenants cooker not working and give me a price"
well went down to see what was what. old dinosaur Wylex board at floor level main cpc not sleeved and clipped to skirting board. cables in a right you know what state. rang her to give her the good news. "just get on and fix it the tenant owes me twenty pounds he will pay you that" what about the rest? i asked. "What rest twenty quid will sort it and if you don`t want to do it for that it`s your loss and you could have had loads more work"
yeh i bet i could have had a load more work at twenty quid a time. thanks but no thanks. I took the twenty quid and left him an invoice for the call out. strangely enough i never got the call for all that fabulous work she had in store for me.

it nearly beats the one where i priced one up for one on the way home in the winter. got there pitch black he wanted an outside light changing. agreed the price without a quibble unusual. said i would be back in the morning, cant you do it now he asked? no mate no ladders, with a blink of the eye over he comes with a plastic patio table. I don`t mind you using this I need it doing tonight or not at all. guess it was not at all then. the only landlord i look after is a good mate of mine and if i tell him it`s going to be x amount no questions asked he just say`s nice one when can you do it.

I bet, saved her ringing again:) and i bet she found some little diamond to d the work cheap and i bet it was all signed off  picture is the main cpc that runs around the skirting board tenant did not want me to take any more of the lovely install

no idea who connected the old cooker up but i can tell you who didn`t connect the new one up ;) I left the tenant in no doubt how dangerous the place was and made a call to the local council, none of the smokes worked in the building let alone the emergency lighting HMO local fire chief got a call as well. was not being malicious i just like to sleep at night and would like to think someone would do the same if it was me. not sure if anything ever came of any of it. it`s a shame we cant pull the power like the gas guy`s can on some houses
