larms advice

I am thinking about adding alarms and security to my services base I have had a look online re quals, courses, & affilations what do the alarm guys reccomend as a starting point

if you are competent and confident to install alarms, just get on with it. audible systems only at first. if it really takes off, then think about affliliation with nacoss or whatever.

A lot of electricians have the skills necessary to move into the security market. If you get hold of a simple panel, external sounder, some detectors and contacts then set it all up on a board, then get some practice programming different set ups and knowledge of the terminology used before you start installing in the field

Yea , alarms can be another string to the bow. But I wouldn't worry about SSAIB or NSI until you have at least 20 or so installs under the belt.

as has been said,tho get yourself a set of regs and make yourself a test board choose a manufacturer you like and keep to the same kit that way you will get to know it inside out rather than chopping and changing makes and collect as many manuals as you can incase you come across a system that needs repaired
