I've been looking for a laser level and came across a bosch PCL 20 was wondering if any ones got it and how good it is because it seems quite cheap for the specs and i think its for DIYers, I was going for the Dewalt dw088k but this does not have the plumb feature whereas the bosch one does.

I have the Dewalt and can't fault it and it has plumb line too.

If you want one for lining up downlights then get one that doesn't self level as this feature just makes the job a whole lot more of a pain in the arse.

That is the thing I can't do that if the site is like 50m long with the bosch it gives a dot line from the ceiling to the floor

And also is the dewalts beam powerfull enough to go around a typical home room for me to level all sockets? And if you have the bosch does that have a powerful beam to do the same?

It does, have done switches and sockets through out a house using it. Theres a clip on you tube for it somewhere

PCL is green Bosch - it's nothing more than a diy toy. Better to spend more and get a proper tool or not bother at all. Dewalt with the Dw088 are probably the most affordable model at around ÂŁ150, but at least your money is going to something that will last

And as for using a laser level to get sockets in rooms level, seriously? In new builds etc sure, at 1st fix stage to get boxes at same height, but after that all that's needed is a good spirit level. Have all these new high end tools taken away the requirement of the important basic tools?
