Just finished my last 2365-03 assignment (305, the installation one). I believe this is similar to a differently-numbered unit for the 2357. Assuming it's all alright, that means I'm about done. :50:

I now realise there's a lot about specifying wiring systems that I don't know! I think I've got the basics of when and where to use trunking, tray, conduit (PVC or steel), basket, twin and earth etc... but then there's all these new fangled "modular" systems, and frankly I'm really hazy about how it all works in practice (especially lighting). I guess I need to look up more! :)

Still, I had a good crack at it, and (apart from the time it took) was quite good fun!

A tip, in case anyone on the 2357 or 2365 is suffering from poor quality printouts of the C&G plans (like I was)... here's a link to a beautifully clear PDF, from the official City & Guilds website:

http://cdn.cityandguilds.com/Produc..._3/Assessment_materials/2357_all_drawings.pdf

The drawing numbers are different for the 2365, but (as far as I can tell!) the details of the relevant drawings are identical.

Each drawing has a scale, but it doesn't tell you what size it should be printed out as! Mine were printed A5, which might explain why the beds were 1m long and doors were 400mm wide. :hammer: Perhaps it's meant to be A3.

Anyway, slightly delierious, as you can probably tell. Need sleep.

NVQ next. :)

Well done steve and that link would be useful to other trainees it could do with being moved to the useful pdf threads section.

Well done Steve, told you it was easy lol.
Thank you! :)

Yeah, "easy", right! :) I'll remember that! So when Paul says "easy" what he actually means is, "ball-ache." :willy_nilly:

Thank you! :)

I'm on it like a bonnet.

Well done mate! So what does the future hold for you now then?
In the very short term, beer and stomping about to a band I know very well, playing in my local hostelry. :)

I've been asked to teach the 2365-02 course, I start at the end of February. I'll also be running a 17th edition course too, on the occasional weekend. (In the other half of my life I'm a lecturer in electrical and electronic engineering, I moved part time in November. Teaching level 2 and 3 electrical theory was an obvious job on the side; when I was asked, though, you could've knocked me down with a feather).

I'm going to sign up for the NVQ, which will convert my 2365 into a 2357. I am doing bits and bobs (upgrading a commercial property); the guy whose wing I'm under is not long qualified himself, though, so - lovely bloke though he is - sometimes I wonder if what he says is the "right" way to do things, but I generally keep my gob shut as he knows more than me. :) He's already taught me a lot of useful skills, though... how to get into a rhythm with a job so it flows naturally, and you don't waste effort and everything's really swift, stuff you never learn on your course. If this turns into a more formal arrangement I'll be working on that part time (Mondays and Thursdays), and at the uni the other days. Need to decide between now and May (ish) whether to knock the uni on the head or not.

Exciting times :)
