Last I heard top wack for shiny bright (or briney shight :lipsrsealed2 copper is around £6 a kilo. Lead £2.50

so.you need proportions so lets assume 14kg lead 6kg copper

£36 + £35 = ..........£71

bluey bandit,i was tasked as an apprentice to strip all the cut offs,not a great job,i prefered the throwing it on the fire at night,was told to run it anyone came..:shocked3: i thought blue flames were normal..

There’s an art to stripping lead, and it’s dead simple when you know how.

I was going to be rotten but I’ll not be.

If it’s flat twin just score along the length of the lead on both sides with a Stanley knife. At the point your going to start stripping split the lead with a small chisel or hack knife. Get hold of the two conductors with pliers and pull apart, it just opens up like a zip fastener. For large cables score two tram lines about ½” apart and open it up like a can of corned beef. If it is a large cable expect to get covered in tar from the inner serving. Works on church roofs as well :lipsrsealed2:
