Hi lads,

Work being as it is at the minute(i.e not done a thing since xmas) was thinking of getting some leaflets done and going round the local area with them.
From reading this sub forum it seems a few of you have done this already, what do you think? good idea? bad idea?

Also any tips on designing the leaflet(what to put on it etc), where to get them from the cheapest, and is it worth paying one of these firms to deliver them for me?

cheers

Gaz

On the topic of paying someone else to deliver them for you I personally would do the drops myself. Save money and give me something to do rather than sit in the house waiting on work. keep ypu fit as well :p

you could Try asking your postman to post some he gets about 3p per advertisment sent and can't stand the stuff, but seeing that he's got to post them at some time might fancy a extra couple of quid.
The chances are though he will only post to the streets surounding your own house.

Leaflets have never worked for me, but I know a couple of lads who have picked up with them.

Hope they work for you.

Ian

cheers Ian, do you mind if I ask how many leaflets you sent out? I've been looking online and seen half decent prices for 5000 you reckon thats more hassle than their worth?

got a start aty queens university tomorrow, do you know what they doing there..thanks
dunno if this helps probs wont but when i was doing work experiance with the open university i went there and had to make a spec on what the room needed with loads of new sockets and lighting, air con ets but that was afew years ago

I used an affiliate of printing.com near me, I designed all the artwork for business cards and leaflets using Adobe Illustrator which is the same program they use in the shop. I got tips off youtube on little tricks in Adobe which was especially usefull when I built our website using dreamweaver.

Last campaign we did was about 2000 leaflets, it took about 3 days to deliver and we got a few jobs from it but more importantly it raised the company profile massivly and now people have heard of us and considering were are a relativley new business we need to get out there and sell ourselves...

This is my leaflet design, which I had 10.000 printed I have about 8000 left and they only cost ÂŁ180. If you want to take on the competition then this is a start, my next publicity stunt will be working with the local fire brigade on their next open day giving away a free smoke alarm installation as a raffled prize ;-) down their for dancing, up here for thinking son!
