I have a rewire on soon and the customer has asked for a couple of the rooms to have LED downlights on a dimmer with a remote. The bloke from my local wholesalers has just told me that in his experience of flogging the stuff, remotes for dimmers with LEDs don't work. He mentioned something about the RF used in the remotes being interfered with by a variety of things, including the LEDs themselves.

However, I have seen infra red remotes for LED suitable dimmers; has anyone else had experience of these? Or any remotes for dimmers with LEDs. Advice please!

I want to make sure I'm buying something that is going to work.

try this company .... rfsolutions.co.uk they specialise in remote switching systems. 01273 898000 (sales). 01273 898007 ( tech.)

Thanks for replying. I got in touch with the company that makes the LED GU10s I was about to buy and got some recommendations from them. Then I got a local wholesaler that assured me he could always fix flicker problems with LED dimmers by adding resistors to the circuit.

I'll see. The wholesaler is a friend of my customer so there won't be any issues if it all goes ---- up and I want my money back.
