Tidy Max

Alreet chaps.

I usually buy my LED floods from either CEF or LED wholesalers. I used to buy the single chip 10w lamps either with built in PIR or standalone (the ones with the large heat sink on the back) that look like regular flood.

I recently used one of the newer style floods that are about that are very slim and better looking, however i can't find any online!

I recently made the jump to using online wholesalers (i have been using TLC) and electrofix however neither of these have exactly what i am after?

If anyone recommends any other online wholesalers that would be good!

Try LEDhut. They do slim LED floods with or without sensors. I have used them before and they are a good fitting. Don't bother with the 10W though, a little under powered.

Thanks Andy, i checked out LED hut and they weren't the type i had used before.

Thanks for the recommendation, ill give it another hour or so to see if anyone else suggests something but so far they are the closest :)

Ta for the reply mate

Yeah it just seems a bit steep! I love cpc for my electronics bits and bobs and its handy because its only 25min away from but i can usually find exactly what they are selling for cheaper elsewhere!

Still no luck with these lights, i am going to buy the ones off LED hut but i will go and grab one from CEF and upload a photo. I fitted a couple for a customer a couple of months ago and he was over the moon and they were very nice looking!

Thanks for the reply Tel

I've installed quite a few of the LED Hut ones, although I always fit a separate PIR. I don't trust the reliability of the integral ones and you have more control over the detection area if separate.

The 10W ones won't light up you garden, but they're very useful for smaller areas. Two or three pointing straight down work really well above a path down the side of a house, for example.

They are the exact ones Ash! However i paid abit less than that for them i think!

Nice looking light though.

I had a spare tamlight with built in PIR laying about which i am going to take to the customer. Its abit of a funny one as its an old farm house that has 4 old halogens along one wall, one with a pir then they have a large concrete parking area.

A 30w one will cover the parking area adequately and i was intending on replacing the other halogens just with 10wers.

Cheers for all the replies.

Do you use that website often btw Ash? is it any good?

Steinels simply are the best you can buy, however very expensive!

We been using DETA and brackenheath from the local wholesaler but they just scream cheap rubbish when your unboxing them

Had a look at Timeguard and JCC the other day which look far better quality

Agree above fitted Steinel in places where quality is absolutely necessary (24 7 lorry park for example) & they are top of the stack.

great example of you pay what you get for....

Thanks for you response, that makes more sense LEDs do produce less heat. I think i read somewhere that LEDs are more sensitive to heat, as in...
