Hi All,

decent and cheap are usually worlds apart. I've owned a few cheap ones and couldn't recommend any of them. I use Petzl which don't cost the earth but they're all-round good.

first welcome to the forum Martin....
I have had head torches from the quid shop mate as i wont spend a load of cash on something that either gets lost in lofts or under floors....or ends up getting stamped on (accidentally of course)....or something like that.....

Hi Glenn.. west yorkshire i see, i am from leeds. i also hate spending money on things that you know for a fact will be left under the floor or in the loft, i have a 10.8v bosch LED torch, great but sometimes the hands are full and unable to position it in the correct place.....or the apprentice will loose it.:90:

Thanks for feed back, will have a look at the petzl, is theie a certain one you could recommend,,

I think mine is a Tikka but it's about 5 years old and I see they have newer models out now and they even have one that's intrinsically safe.

They're a bit more expensive that I remember though, i see the Petzel is about 25 UKpounds.

CPC where selling one the other day for next to nothing. No idea how good it would be mind, but I've an LED inspection lamp from them (same manufacturer) and its took a battering and still going ok.
