Hi,
I recently replaced the three halogen bulbs in bathroom downlighters with LED bulbs and one worked fine other 2 dim and flickering.
I was told by a friend that I needed to change the original transformers for LED Drivers so decided to replace one of them first to see if he was right- I have just done this but light is still as before dim and flickering.
Can anyone help with this problem
Thanks
Runmaster

Sometimes the ceramic plugs that push onto the pins of the lamp get damaged by overheating and don't make a good contact. Have a close look at the pins on the halogen lamps you took out, if they're dull looking or pitted it probably means you must replace the ceramic lamp holders (plugs).

if you have replaced 12 volt halogens, then your friend is correct as 12 volt LED lamps run on DC , constant current where the old lamps were AC so change all the transformers to 12 volt DC Led drivers

I assumed he's talking about MR16 lamps in which case most are designed to be a direct replacement for their halogen counterparts and will run happily on the existing 12VAC lighting transformer.

As you say one is working fine, swop the lamps around and see if the fault moves. If the one that works fine, works in the other fittings then it's likely a couple of dodgy lamps
