Hi
I am looking to engage an electrician to install 10 LED lights around an outside pool and I know, from the research that I've done, that I have to have a driver in the pool plant room. I am trying to choose the fittings beforehand, however nearly all the LED lights on sale come with drivers so it is very challenging to find driverless fittings. In the limited circumstances where you can find a driverless fitting the price is about the same as fittings that have a driver! Can someone tell me, is it possible just to choose fittings with a driver and then remover the individual drivers and run the lights from a single driver? Even the outlets that sell LED lights dont seem to know!

Many thanks in anticipation.

You can by led fitting on their own, and choose the correct rated driver that will run all the fittings....try LED Hut or Simply Lighting

Welcome Jasper .... just a word of caution here there are very strict regulations for safety reasons when fitting and wiring lighting near or in a pool ... are you doing this yourself as your profile clearly says you are not an Electrician but a chef, this is one of those kind of jobs where you really need it to be installed to regulation to protect yourself and your family from the dangers associated with having electric near water.

OP's 1st line is a giveaway.

Yes tel did read that but as with all questions of this nature the best person to ask is the Electrician you are going to engage with as he has a first hand on site understanding of whats been asked, Ive seen many a member suggest they will be getting an Electrician just to avoid an onslaught of negative comments then doing it themselves .... having said that im not implying this is the case here but cannot harm to express this is to done strictly to regulation to be safe... ;)

Thank you for your contributions. I'm just trying to find some lights so that I can gauge what the job will cost. The on-line chat at LED Hut said that I could choose ones with drivers and just throw the drivers away! Seems bizarre!
