Hi guys,
just wondering if any of you bright sparks could help with a question i have please,
here we go im looking for the formula for this please
The induced emf produced in a coil of 0.5 H when the current increases from 2A to 5A in 1 second will be ?

You shouldn't get any abuse for asking any question! This is a free to all open forum, you are just as much entitled to ask a question as the next man. People can choose whether or not to join in the thread, and if they just want to abuse, then they shouldn't be replying. I do agree with posts like the ones from Tel, Paul M, and Trev who are all knowledgeable and helpful respected members, have a go yourself, and dont be afraid to get it wrong.

Oh and i will also add, we dont know it all, i for one cant answer your question, i could research it and find out, but i dont need to know the answer, so i cant be bothered.

Thanks for all your replys guys and keeping the sarcasim to a minimum,
the way i worked it out was
0.5H x 3 (differance in in amps 2-5) x 1 second = 1.5 volts

Hi mate, while your answer is correct...I think, the formula would be e.m.f = L x delta I / delta t or 1.5 = 0.5 x 3 / 1
