I will be moving on to do my level 3 2330 in september and was just wondering if you guys think that guidance note 3 and the on-site guide will be of any help.

I think you get a regs book but I'm not 100% sure.

Textbook wise I had the BrianScaddan Electrical Instillation book, it was recommend by the college and its reallyhelpful.

Yeah we get the installation book given from college I am after other books mainly for home. jsut for revisiona dn to try and get my head round all the sections and appendixes.

Ok so it seems go for the GN3 and on site guide

Just finished my level 3 and used the following books over the last year

Regs Book
Amacus guides cant remember full names but the red and yellow books ( cost ÂŁ7 each if your not a member)
GN3
On site guide
Electrical craft principles (This is an old book I had not to the 17th but usefull for calculations, magnatism etc)
Advanced Electrical Installation Work: byTrevor Linsley

your training provider should provide you the use of these, i wouldnt go out buying as the update comes next year and theres sure to be a new set of books to buy.

if it`s anything like the college i went to you won`t get any books supplied to use or to keep. we had to buy the lot ourself in the first four weeks. that stung with the cost of the course on top

yeah well we get the installation book same as the level 2 but thats all. we do get the use of the BRB and son site guide but we cant take them home thats the problem.
