RJS Contracts

Hi guys

Just looking at a job where I have to put a supply in for a lift. ~It is a 3 phase supply and specifying 66 amps start up and 22 amps running. Any idea what cable you would use. Was going to do it in SWA 4 core and run separate earth.

Any thoughts appreciated

Lift companies are a nightmere, we normally ask them to provide specific requirements as their engineers have their own ideas on actual demand.also depends on the run length etc etc

32a type d , dont be supprised if they ask you to do the lift shaft lighting & maintenance sockets in the pit as well

sorry to butt in on your thread rjs but why run a seperate earth wont the armour csa be big enough?

Im trying to learn here btw not picking cheers

Lift engineers are a weird bunch matty and some insist on seperate cpc some don't .

Iv,e done quite a few and the supplies had to come from main section board some of them 150mtr runs. The lift company should tell you exactly where in the shaft the isolator/ socket should be fitted.

yours benji

I'm assuming the cable will have to be cleated well to hold it in place anyway, as a stuffing gland ain't going to hold it tight like a SWA gland...
