Octopus

I bought a light changing LED floodlight on the web and it arrived today - as I'm slobbing around I thought I better take a look at it and read the instructions before I install it...

So this is the unit out of the box:

These are the "instructions" for the unit:

And these are the instructions for the remote:

There appear to be a few discrepancies in them plus couldn't they have supplied a slightly longer cable?

the cable's longer than what we got with our new kettle bought from a well known supermarket chain. Any more
shorter and I'd have been plugging into that three legged shape I kept staring at at sparks college.

I'll stick to calling it a well known...to be fair I've had the same with mobile charger leads. Years ago(yawn) my old
Nokia charger had enough lead for community skipping tied to a lamp post.

I'd be requesting a refund due to it being not suitable for purpose.
Ip66 stated yet do not use outside in the instructions, and that flex length is no use to man nor beast.

Yes - I will be sending them some feedback..... and after watching the video clip above I'm going to see how many watts its pulling too - it sure ain't very bright!

AND I'll check the earth continuity!

For anyone ordering one of these lights or a similar one they are available with a fitted plug. The price is roughly the same. Why order with a plug well the cables longer. Cut off the plug and get at least a metre of cable so you can site the junction box out of site or in a more sheltered position.
Never checked the wattage but the unit on mine was earthed.

I'd be interested in the results of that. Certainly looks a lot like the fitting in bigclive's video.
