Can anyone advise? iv been asked to fit some new lighting in a customers bathroom, they want one directly above the shower cubicle as its an enclosed cubicle( i.e 3 tiled walls trap to ceiling and door) so not much light in there. what zone would this position fall in and what fitting options are available? is it only recessed downlighters????

If it is completely enclosed i would be more concerned with ventilation!

However, a suitably rated downlight or bulkhead fitting would be perfect.

Not really much to choose from.

h i craig what light you need is a ip56 rated downlight that can be installed in zone 1 this is the zone that the shower light will be in. i fitted one last year in the some position,my customer got it from homebase and on the box it stated that it was ip56 rated and could be fitted in zone 1.if your customer does not want a downlight you can use a enclosed type, again it needs to be a ip56 type or similar rating. regards john

Hi, as Jason S said I'd be concerned about ventilation so why not install a showerlight fan then you can also add the inline fan to extract the steam that will no doubt be considerable!!
